Redfall got a ton more information thanks to an interview with the Creative Director and Studio Director at Arkane Austin and it looks like the Xbox console exclusive might surprise a lot of people as the studio is seeking to deliver a lot more than a Left for Dead game with vampires.
Redfall Could Be The Surprise Hit That Xbox Needs

Expectations are already high, let's see it can deliver
It definitely needs to be above decent. But I have a feeling this game and Starfield are going to be put under the 'unrealistic expectations' microscope from most high profile game reviews.
I agree the game needs to land. Being always online isn't the step in the right direction imo.
Since it is always online they need a beta in April to stress the server's for a smooth launch. They did that with Infinite and Forza because I have strong feeling this game will launch horribly.
But what do you think though.
It definitely wouldn't hurt to get a game preview in before the actual launch. From what I saw it definitely has a L4D vibe, where playing with a team is preferred, and that is a good thing.
"I have strong feeling this game will launch horribly."
With MS as of late, I don't get my hopes up too high anymore as they always find a way to mess something up.
Yeah it sucks. MS shoots themselves in the foot most of the time. If Arkane/MS want a smooth launch release a damn beta a month before launch. Have it broken and crashing for a week or 2 so. Have all the fanboys say stupid crap and say "I told you the game sucks!" despite it being a beta and describing saying it's a beta, it's a beta a million times until a light bulb goes off and realize "omg it's a beta!"
But yea it's a avoidable situation but that's up to MS and Arkane if they want to succeed and not be dumb something MS can't stop doing this gen. I'm sure they have something in the works, I'm sure they're way ahead of me but time will tell.
