You play as a nondescript coffee shop owner. You aren’t given a face, voice, gender, age, anything to describe yourself save your sense of humor and customer relations skills, so your character can be a full representation of yourself. Freya, your most loyal regular, is a writer for a local newspaper and finds her column content in the lives of other Seattleites. She wants to break out into the publishing world, and her first book will be inspired by the many stories shared by Coffee Talk’s customers, such as a forbidden romance between races and a young idol breaking charts and her father’s heart. It makes you wonder if the game is based on any of the creators’ own coffee runs. In these stories, you’ll find familiar themes of racial divisions, family dynamics, and heartwarming friendships, both new and old.
